I love when a painting has a little bit of a game going on inside it. Hide and Seek is exactly that. I started with soft neutrals but then fun little bursts of colour started appearing. They play off each other and keep your eye moving around the canvas in the most satisfying way.
It is a happy painting. Calm on the surface with a lot of joy underneath. Exactly the kind of thing I love to make.
The 36x18" format is one of my favourites for versatility. It works on its own in a smaller space or as part of a larger gallery wall arrangement. And it is a really lovely way to bring your first original painting home.
